2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by an external service provider. When you visit the website, the server automatically records information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. This data is required for the secure and stable operation of the website and is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website). The log files are deleted automatically after a short period. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.
3. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
4. Cookies, consent and external services
This website uses technically necessary cookies or comparable storage technologies, for example to save your choice in the cookie banner and for logged-in editors in the WordPress admin area (§ 25(2) TDDDG [German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act], Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). All other services, in particular external media such as Google Maps, are only loaded if you have given your prior consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Consent management (Complianz)
We use the WordPress plugin Complianz to obtain and manage your consent. Your choice is stored in a cookie in your browser so that we can take your decision into account on later visits and demonstrate it (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR). The plugin runs on our own server; no data is transmitted to the plugin provider. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings.
Google Maps
On our website we embed maps from the Google Maps service to show you our location. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The map is only loaded once you have given your consent via the cookie banner or activated the map with a click. In doing so, your IP address and information about your browser in particular are transmitted to Google; Google may set cookies in the process. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. 5. Contacting us by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the details you provide (e.g. name, contact details, travel dates and the content of your enquiry) in order to handle your enquiry and prepare a quote. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a booking or to taking steps prior to entering into a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete your data as soon as it is no longer required for processing your enquiry and no statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial and tax law) prevent this.
6. Bookings via third-party platforms
Our apartments can also be booked via platforms such as Airbnb or Booking.com. The data processing on these platforms is governed by the privacy notices of the respective provider. We receive the data required to carry out your stay from the platform operator (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
7. Your rights
You have the right at any time to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please use the contact details given above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.
